Andy Ferrington - N PhotoAndy appearing in N Photos very first magazine issue. December 2011. Andy was approached by N Photo to appear as a photographer biography as an avid Nikon user.
I was approached in early 2011 by the editor of "East & West Traveller Magazine", a English tourism magazine for South East Asia based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Following a two week photography trip solo around Vietnam my website photos caught the eye of the publisher, and as such I was asked to commission an article for the magazine. This article features the old imperial city of Hue, with words written by Sara Proebsting and all photography by myself.

GVI - Global Vision International is a non-political, non-religious organisation, which runs over 100 projects in 25 countries. GVI volunteers fill a critical void in the fields of environmental research, conservation, education and community development. Andy started as a volunteer for GVI in 2010 in Tsavo West National Park, Kenya. Andy soon returned in early 2011, initially as a volunteer, but was quickly offered a scholarship to stay on as an intern and staff member on various alternative livelihood sustainability projects in Taveta, Tsavo West, Kenya.
GVI runs an annual photography competition. The below image was the 2011 GVI Photography Competition winner, and as a result has appeared across GVI's website, Facebook and social media channels.
The image was taken during a 2 week construction project in the village of Mahandakini, the local primary school had just finished and the children all passed through our base camp to check out the new Grain Store and Posho Mill we were installing for them.

GVI Photographer of the Year 2011 Winner © Andy FerringtonOne of my favourite shots from Kenya. This was taken in my favourite community in the Taveta region of southern Kenya... Mahandakini. School had just finished, and the kids had a routine of coming to visit the Wuzungu, and to pose and mess around in front of the cameras. One of my fondest memories of Kenya....
GVI Foundations Field Photographer: - Kenya - July 2011
